This was a challenge as I didn't really know which direction to go but after a bit of experimenting and searching through my Pinterest boards, this is what I came up with:

I am glad for the Kangaroo on the Animal Expedition DSP as I think that is what is making this look that little bit Aussie. And I just had to add the Aussie traditional bon bon paper crown on her head. The little koala gazing up at the star on top of the tree is a little bit cute as well, don't you think?

This is the 3rd Blog Hop of this series. Somehow I totally missed the last one which was using Untraditional Christmas colours. I have now printed off the list showing the dates & themes so that I won't miss another one 😉.

I know the colours we were given are quite bold but I muted them down by watercoloring and 2nd gen stamping. I used Elegant Eggplant for my sentiment and dashes but the colour is so dark that it looks like black. I also used a few neutral colours for may card stock which may be bending the rules just a little. (wink)

Bible Journalling Adventure

I had the privilege of doing another Bible Journalling class with the lovely Lydell Quin at Paper Flourish yesterday. We journaled with the inspiration of Psalm 47.

I used my Stampin' Write markers with an Aqua painter and really loved how they worked together. By putting a layer of Gesso on the bible page first, you can then move the ink around with the aqua painter and get a lovely watercolour effect. A touch of Wink of Stella just gave it a little bit of sparkle. I don't usually like to cover over the words of scripture, but you can still read through, and this is also my bible totally dedicated to journalling.

I loved this stamp set the first time I saw it and it really is a great deal when you purchase it as a bundle. It consists of 37 stamp images so you can create a whole variety of different designs with the one bundle of stamps. I really love how feminine the flowers look and having the co-ordinating dies really makes it easy to cut the images out. I have made a 99mm x 105mm (folded DL) card which was the perfect size for the middle sized jar. The envelope was created with the new 2016/18 In Colour Envelope Paper and the Envelope Punchboard.

I really loved this stamp set when I first saw it in the Holiday Catalogue. It is very interchangeable with 3 different baskets and 4 different fillers as well as a variety of sentiments. A great stamp set for watercoloring.

Free Spirited Card Making

As we had some terrible weather and a whole state blackout this week, there is no Blog Hop. However I thought I would blog some of the cards that I made during the week that are non theme related but just made for the fun of it.

These first two were made by following the tutorial shared by Dawn Griffith using the Fox Builder Punch by Stampin' Up!

Then I used the Fox Builder Punch again to make this Bear card CASE'd from Michelle Last

Saturday 1st October was World Card Making Day as well as the AFL Grand Final here in Australia so I took advantage of these events and made this card.
